My Weight Loss Journey (myweightlossjourney.com.au) is operated by the practice of Dr Rohit Kumar, specialist plastic surgeon, in Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and, in New South Wales, the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002. It applies to this website and sits alongside the privacy policy for drkumar.com.au.
What we collect
You can read this website without telling us who you are. We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us, for example through the enquiry form or a guide download: your name, email address, phone number, suburb, and anything you write in your message.
Some of what you tell us may be health information, such as how you lost weight, how long your weight has been stable, or which area of loose skin concerns you. Health information is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We collect it only with your consent.
How we use it
We use your information so that Dr Kumar’s team can respond to your enquiry, judge whether a consultation is likely to help, and prepare for it. If you request a guide, we use your details to send it to you. We will not use your information to market to you without your consent, and you can unsubscribe from any email we send.
Guide follow-up emails. If you request a guide and agree to it, we also send a short series of follow-up emails about the weight-loss journey. To do this, your name, email address, phone number, postcode and the guide you chose are kept in a contact list on this website and in Dr Kumar’s practice system at drkumar.com.au, so Dr Kumar’s team knows you have been in touch. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us, and the emails will stop.
Enquiries to Amy Kellner APD. The enquiry form on Amy Kellner’s page sends your enquiry directly to Amy at The Cosmetic Dietitian. Amy is an independent Accredited Practising Dietitian, not part of Dr Kumar’s practice, and handles your enquiry under her own privacy obligations. The form says this before you send it.
We do not sell your information. We do not disclose it outside the practice except where you agree, or where the law requires or permits it.
Storage and security
Enquiries submitted through this website are sent by email to Dr Kumar’s practice, and guide requests are also kept in the contact lists described above. We use service providers to run this website and send its emails, including our web host and SMTP2GO, an email delivery service. They handle your information only to provide those services to us. If an enquiry becomes part of a patient record, it is kept for the period required for health records in New South Wales. Enquiries that do not become patient records are deleted once they are no longer needed. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, but no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Like most websites, this site’s servers record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use cookies that the site needs to work and, if you accept them in the cookie notice, analytics cookies that help us understand which pages are useful. You can decline analytics cookies, or set your browser to refuse cookies.
